A routine house fire in Arlington, Indiana, proves to be anything but when an explosion shatters the lives of the crew of Engine 3. Captain Patrick O'Keefe, Engineer Eddie Bennett, Firefighter Calvin Landry and Probationary trainee Emma Turner find themselves in a battle for survival after a near-fatal explosion.
Unbeknownst to them, the ordinary house operated under the umbrella of The Hatteras Project—a series of "in plain sight" experiments hidden from governmental oversight and regulations.
Former black-ops commando David Noakes and his ex-military Variance team are called in to contain the incident.
