IS IT EVER TOO LATE TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT?

Hilly gave up on a certain kind of love a long time ago. Her romantic notions couldn't sustain a real-life romance, so she threw her heart into soup pots and pie plates and took on a mission to love her neighbors, instead. She set her table, and invited them in, and formed a sense of community over short ribs and apple strudel that took the place of a romantic love.

Besides, even if she were brave enough to love someone, she has secrets she's not brave enough to tell.

Collier will always believe in love, even though his thirty-year marriage left him starved for it. He spends a lot of time in Hilly's kitchen, at her table, unwittingly putting her self-imposed celibacy to the test. He'd wanted her long before he had a right to or the freedom to. So, in a way, they have a history, and it's a complicated one. But he'd like for her to see him as something more than a complication. And finally kiss him!

But he has secrets, too. And he's not sure he's ready to reveal the circumstances of a marriage that everyone thought was a good one.

But just as love doesn't always keep to the boundaries, secrets don't always stay secret. And two tables and one old flame later, they each discover that to believe otherwise, is a recipe for heartbreak!
