Gr 4-8-This set covers more than 150 breeds with concise single-page profiles. A group overview opens each title, followed by alphabetically arranged breed descriptions. Brief overviews of appearance, personality, training, and care notes are provided for each, along with country of origin, date of American Kennel Club recognition, and a bit of historical background. The inviting layout includes white space between each bite of information; a clear, full-body photograph; and a "Fun Fact" about the breed accompanied by a smaller photo. The one-page treatment is not intended to offer in-depth coverage, but there's enough to get a sense of each dog's key individual traits. Short tips about care and training make the set useful for prospective dog owners as well as more general canine fans.
