The year is 1918. The Mexican Revolution has yet to end. A new disease is spreading as the world recuperates from the Great War. Mexico City is a ghost town. In this country people die; of this or that. And, in the middle of everything a love letter is written. Will it get to its destination or will it be forgotten to time's passage?

Published in September, 2020. Written by Axel Trujillo Ledesma with a cover illustration by Aaron Trujillo Ledesma. This ebook is written in Spanish and it is an original work of fiction. It was inspired by the Author's many hours of watching old Mexican Black and White movies.

"Amores de Blanco y Negro" is an homage to the so called; "Golden Age" of Mexican Cinema. However, it is also a deep and personal reflection of how those movies shaped the cultural background of the Author himself. And, how that same cultural background creates a bleeds back into New Mexican stories.

Although "Amores de Blanco y Negro" is an homage to the entirety of the "Golden Age," it is particularly inspired by the 1940 film, "En Tiempos de Don Porfirio" directed by Juan Bustillo Oro.

"Amores de Blanco y Negro is written in the First Person point of view, as it belongs to the Epistolary genre. Which means, that it is written in the form of a letter.

"Amores de Blanco y Negro" being an homage to Mexican Cinema, features many of its tropes. However, not in the form one might expect. The story takes place in the year of 1918, during the Spanish Flu Pandemic.
