"This sweet gay contemporary hits the spot." —Publishers Weekly
Their collections may clash but their hearts are a perfect match.
Moving to eclectic New Hope, Pennsylvania, and running The Beautiful Things Shoppe is a dream come true for elegant and reserved fine arts dealer Prescott J. Henderson. He never agreed to share the space with Danny Roman, an easygoing extrovert who collects retro toys and colorful knickknacks.
And yet here they are, trapped together in the quaint shop as they scramble to open in time for New Hope's charming Winter Festival.
Danny has spent years leading with his heart instead of his head. The Beautiful Things Shoppe is his chance to ground himself and build something permanent and joyful. The last thing he needs is an uptight snob who doesn't appreciate his whimsy occupying half his shop.
It's only when two of New Hope's historic landmarks—each as different as Danny and Prescott—are threatened that a tentative alliance forms. And with it, the first blush of romance. Suddenly, running The Beautiful Things Shoppe together doesn't seem so bad...until Danny's secret threatens to ruin it all.
Carina Adores is home to highly romantic love stories where LGBTQ+ characters find their happily-ever-afters.

Prescott J. Henderson is excited to take over the lease on his friend's antique shop in beautiful New Hope, PA. At last, he'll have a real home for the high-end antique furniture he loves to collect and sell. When he shows up that first day, he's horrified to learn that he'll be sharing the space with another dealer, with the least refined specialty Prescott can imagine: kitsch. The charismatic Danny Roman wears novelty t-shirts and shoes shaped like cheeseburgers, and he's very proud of the mint-condition vintage toys, lunchboxes, and other collectibles he has on offer. Danny, for his part, finds Prescott unbearably stuffy. The two reach an uneasy truce that evolves into friendship, then more, when they team up to save beloved buildings that are about to be demolished--but each man is keeping a secret that could derail their growing relationship. Narrators Michael Dean and Kale Williams bring the characters to life. VERDICT With realistic, though relatively low-key conflicts; quirky, warm-hearted secondary characters; and a believable love story, this will appeal to fans of contemporary enemies-to-lovers romances.--Stephanie Klose, Library Journal

Stover proves opposites attract in his charming second Seasons of New Hope romance (after The Hideaway Inn). Vintage goods vendors Prescott Henderson and Danny Roman are each offered a discounted rent to use the Beautiful Things Shoppe to sell their wares. But neither is aware he’ll be sharing the space until they both arrive to move in. Prescott, who trades in beautiful and hard-to-find antiques, is shocked and annoyed to find laid-back Danny selling what Prescott sees as junk but Danny sees as priceless, if kitschy, collectibles, from Beanie Babies to vintage Happy Meal toys. Danny is just as displeased with Prescott, who he views as pretentious and stodgy. They agree to each use half the store, but getting along is near impossible—until they discover that two neighborhood buildings they both love are in danger of demolition, and they band together to save them. This rousing cause forces them to see beyond their animosity and recognize that their differences can be a strength. New readers will have no trouble jumping in, and returning fans will be pleased to revisit quaint, eclectic New Hope, Pa. This sweet gay contemporary hits the spot.
