It's a breezy new day and along with a tempest in a chocolate milk glass, Jesse's presented with a messy new mystery when Dorky Dougy loses his lunch while spinning on the merry-go-round. Young listeners who are looking for a blend of fact and fiction may find answers to their scientific questions in this short audiobook. When someone throws up on the merry-go-round, the kids wonder why the vomit spins outward and are presented with a short lesson on centrifugal and centripetal forces. Narrator Keyla McClure delivers engaging enthusiasm to the simple story and scientific facts. However, her style offers little variation or vocal change, and the characters aren't always well differentiated. Nonetheless, the appeal of the gross- out humor could be a good starting point for science lessons, especially for families who listen together. S.B.T. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine
